Little Black Dress

I know I haven't blogged in a while, but I'm back and have lots of outfits for you guys.

A couple of months ago, I went to a winter wedding.  This dress is my favorite dress to wear to winter events.  I got it at Target a few years ago for around $30. So worth it.

I didn't buy this one, but it's super cute.  Charlotte Rousse for around $25- $30

Have yourself a crafty little Christmas

This past Christmas, I got really crafty.  I love making things for people, and with the help of Pinterest, I learned a few new tricks.

This is my first Christmas living away from home (and when I say away from home, I mean half a mile away, in my own apartment lol).  But it was my first year with my own Christmas tree.
The tree itself was pretty lame, so I decided to make some cool ornaments to put on it so I didn't have to buy a bunch of them.  I bought clear ornaments from Hobby Lobby for like $6 or $7 and then I printed out some of my favorite quotes from different books and i slipped them in the ornament!  And voila!

This one is full of quotes from The Hunger Games :)

This one has random book quotes in it.

I always like to make my best friend fun things for holidays.  When we were younger we LOVED (like, literally loved) Harry Potter (i don't know why I'm making "love" past tense, our love has only grown since childhood).  So, anyway, we had a theme this Christmas...

Have yourself a Harry Christmas

So I made her (and myself, obviously) a Harry Potter ornament.  It is full of all of our favorite Harry Potter quotes :) <3

I also made her a DIY Harry Potter sharpie mug.  I learned how to make it on Pinterest.  All you need is, well, i guess, anything porcelain would work.  For example, I've done mugs, plates, bowls, and even a butter dish.  It needs to be porcelain though.  So you take your sharpie (which can be any color), and you write whatever you want.  When you're finished you put it in the oven at 350 degrees for 30 mins.  I put it in there for an hour just to be safe, but it's whatever.

Quote:  "The stories we love best live in us forever" -J.K. Rowling  (i literally can't read that without tearing up)

I also made her a Harry Potter card (i have a lot of extra time on my hands, plus i'm a big geek).  I googled the exact Harry Potter font too haha.

I messed up on this part.  Don't judge me (as if you weren't already hahahaha).

Hope you enjoyed my DIY ornaments and Potter fetish haha! :)

oh darlin' don't you ever grow up

My nephew is almost 8 months old now.  He lives three hours away, so I don't get to spend a lot of time with him.  But when I do, I take a lot of pictures.  These are a couple of his really cute outfits.

Baby's first Christmas! :)

"Reach for the sky!" -Woody :)

I ordered this onesie online and had a family friend embroider my name.  I love it.  I'm sure he'll only be able to wear it that one time, but oh well.  I'm glad I got a picture with him in it :)

First World & Shopaholic Pains

Old Navy got a bunch of new plaid things in.  I bought a few plaid shirts without trying them on-- Note to self: always wear appropriate clothes to change in and out of in the dressing room.  I wore a sweater over a collared shirt and I just didn't want to fool with having to get my outfit all situated again so I just "shopped blindly" is what I'm calling it.  It's a first world pain, I know.  It's also a shopaholic pain! :P

But anyway, this is one of the shirts I bought.  Sadly, the other two I had to return.

Lady Gaga look a like?

When I wore this outfit to work, one of my second graders said I looked like Lady Gaga.  No complaints.  Although, I don't think I would let my second grader listen to Lady Gaga, if I had one.

I love the blazer.  I got it at Forever 21 (duh).  It has zippers that go all the way around the bottom half of the jacket, and zippers that go up the sleeves.  So cute and stylish.

I tried this on at Target.  I liked the length of the sleeves and I like dresses that have the zippers down the back.  Sorry- I couldn't get a good picture of the back though!

The King of DIY

Last month my family went to Memphis to visit Graceland.  I had just learned how to make the DIY scarves.

Here's how to make the DIY scarf!

Peplum & Peacocks

I know I haven't written a post in months, but I thought I would try to start again.  Plus I've got tons of pictures of outfits so I've got plenty to post!

I got the pink blazer & peplum top from Forever 21 in the Summer.  My BFF got me the peacock necklace last Christmas.
